Bosch Rexroth history

The history of Bosch Rexroth starts in 1795 with a water-powered hammer mill, by the 1930s the company was producing specialist castings, and in the 1950s began using its expertise to produce hydraulic components.

In the 1960s the acquisition of Indramat enabled Rexroth to enter the market of Electonic controls and Control units.

The many years of experience in Hydraulics and Servo technology encouraged Mannesmann ag to invest in Rexroth and in 1975 Rexroth became a wholly owned subsidiary of Mannesmann AG.

Mannesmann- Rexroth continued to offer revolutionary innovations in the field of Servomotors and Hydraulics and in 1987 the company acquired one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of Linear Motion products in Deutsche Star.

In 2001 Mannesmann Rexroth and Bosch Automation Technology merged to form Bosch Rexroth AG.

This has enabled Bosch Rexroth to spend the last 20 years cementing its place as one of the world leaders in Drive and Control technologies, offering Linear Motion, Hydraulics and Servomotors technology.

Factories all over the world recognise Bosch-Rexroth as a byword for  innovation, quality and reliability.

Gerald Summers are one of the largest stockists of Bosch Rexroth linear carriages, rails and bushings in the UK.
